Job summary

Coherent Corp in Scotland, UK, is seeking a hands-on Production Assistant to support assembly, packing, and documentation to ensure on-time, accurate deliveries. Training will be provided; manufacturing experience is a plus but not essential.

The role involves fast-paced production tasks, quality checks, and maintaining safe, organised work areas. You will work closely with teams across the site to meet customer delivery requirements and uphold ICARE values.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Performing final assembly activities in line with documented procedures.
  • Packing finished goods, accessories, and defective items accurately and efficiently.
  • Preparing customer orders for dispatch.
  • Processing and returning defective goods to suppliers in accordance with company procedures.
  • Inspecting incoming goods and assessing returned products.
  • Completing and maintaining accurate electronic records and documentation.
  • Ensuring all paperwork and system updates are completed to company standards.
  • Supporting quality, safety, and operational excellence across the department.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
  • Working closely with colleagues to meet production and customer delivery requirements.

The Role

Are you hands-on, detail-oriented, and looking to build a career within a manufacturing environment? We're looking for a Production Assistant to support our operations through assembly, inspection, packing, and documentation activities that help ensure products are delivered to customers safely, accurately, and on time.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing high-quality work. Previous packing or manufacturing experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided to the right candidate.

  • Experience using lifting equipment or small hand tools.
  • Experience working with documentation and computerised record-keeping systems.
