Job Summary:

D&J Precision Machine is seeking a Production Assistant to provide critical support across both the CNC and Parts Departments. This floating role plays an essential part in maintaining the overall efficiency and productivity of the shop floor. The successful candidate will be a hands-on team player who is flexible and eager to learn, capable of shifting between tasks such as assisting CNC machinists with setups and material handling, as well as supporting the parts team with cleaning, assembly, and inventory organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their skill set in a precision manufacturing environment and gain exposure to CNC operations and parts handling within a well-established and growing company.

This role is based at our Cambridge, Ohio location and is a fully onsite position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist CNC operators with the preparation and setup of machines, ensuring proper materials are available and ready for machining.
  • Transport parts and materials between the CNC and Parts departments as needed.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, including the CNC and Parts Departments.
  • Assist with part assembly, cleaning, and finishing tasks as required by the Parts Department.
  • Perform routine inspections of parts and materials to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Handle, label, and store parts according to specified instructions.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Operate basic warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks (if certified).
  • Assist with inventory control, including stock replenishment and part identification.
  • Provide support in other areas of the shop as required, including packaging and shipping.
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work well with minimal supervision.
  • Basic understanding of CNC machinery or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Forklift certification is a plus but not required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.
