Fractile is seeking a Product & Yield Engineer with a focus on data analysis to join their team in Bristol. This role is crucial in the development and manufacturing of silicon products, emphasizing product, yield, and manufacturing data analysis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing large and complex semiconductor datasets to identify trends, isolate sources of variation, and improve yield and reliability. This position requires a hands‑on approach, where the engineer will work directly with data to investigate technical problems and derive actionable engineering conclusions.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in the development and manufacturing processes of Fractile’s silicon products, focusing on product, yield, and manufacturing data analysis.
- Analyze extensive and intricate semiconductor datasets to identify trends, isolate variations, enhance yield and reliability, and provide technical insights to engineering teams and manufacturing partners.
- Work collaboratively across New Product Introduction (NPI), Yield Engineering, and Product Quality to support product development.
- Investigate complex technical issues and translate data analysis into actionable engineering conclusions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in the semiconductor industry, particularly in Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Yield Engineering, Data Analytics, or Quality Engineering, covering NPI to high-volume production.
- Strong analytical skills in semiconductor manufacturing and test data to identify trends, correlations, yield loss mechanisms, and improvement opportunities.
- Experience in wafer fabrication, including process integration, yield enhancement, defect reduction, and process variation data analysis.
- Familiarity with IC assembly processes, including package design, assembly quality control, and yield engineering.
- Knowledge of fabless semiconductor processes, including IC product qualification and reliability analysis.
- Proficient in analyzing WAT, WS/CP, and FT datasets, with the ability to correlate data across manufacturing and testing stages.
- Excellent skills in data mining, statistical analysis, and root-cause investigation, capable of deriving clear engineering conclusions from complex datasets.
- Experience with semiconductor industry data analysis tools such as yieldHUB, Spotfire, JMP, or similar.
- Ability to create automated analyses, dashboards, and repeatable workflows for engineering investigations.
- Familiarity with statistical methods applied to semiconductor manufacturing data, including SPC, Cp/Cpk, and hypothesis testing.
- Strong communication skills for presenting analytical findings through visualizations, reports, and presentations.
- Self-motivated and flexible, able to manage multiple analyses and investigations simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
