Job description

Red Bull Powertrains has an exciting opportunity as a Product Validation Engineer to join our technical team as we transition from building our team’s first Power Units to refining them into a race-ready package, all aimed at delivering the most competitive car on the 2026 Formula One grid.

As an F1 Power Unit Product Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for defining the predicted duty requirements of the F1 Power Unit to which we prove our hardware and define the envelope in which the PU can operate at the racetrack to ensure reliability whilst maximising its performance potential.

Using this knowledge, you will develop:

- Methodology to prove and track the duty requirements in dynamometer testing and on the racetrack

- Strategies for optimal deployment of the RBPT PU Hardware.

Some key accountabilities of the role are listed below:

  • Define validation objectives, predicted duty cycle and prove out requirements, to validate PU performance, durability, and integration.
  • Develop methodology to monitor and assess PU operation at the track – correlating back to durability testing and lap simulation predictions.
  • Develop methodology for optimal deployment of PU hardware to the race track
  • Product Validation support for test and race events where required from the Remote Ops Room.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A degree with a 2:1 minimum in an engineering subject or related field
  • Experience working with large datasets and utilising data analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, or similar.
  • Familiarity with power unit systems, engine and ERS durability metrics, and Formula One racing rules and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to derive actionable insights from complex data.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced racing environment.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in data analysis, statistical modelling, and machine learning desirable.
  • Passion for motorsports, Formula One racing, and a deep interest in power unit technology

If you’re driven to win, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to help define the future of data-driven performance in Formula One, this is your chance to be apart of a unique opportunity.

At Red Bull Powertrains, we are about to enter our first season of F1, we have pushed the limits in development and will fight for every victory on track getting things done with relentless focus. Joining us means being part of a high-performance team that thrives on collaboration, trust, and ambition in an environment that is highly driven. We celebrate wins, learn from challenges, and take our work seriously—but not ourselves. Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy:

  • Bonuses,
  • Private healthcare,
  • A pension scheme,
  • On-site gym,
  • Free daily food allowance
  • And many more!

Most importantly, you’ll play a key role in powering championship-winning cars and seeing the direct output of your efforts on track. If you're ready to be part of something extraordinary, apply now and help shape the future of F1.
