Job Description

Job Title: Product Technologist - Food

Type: Permanent

Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 pa DOE

Location: Onsite - 5 days per week

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Based onsite at our prestigious client, this role is focused on ensuring consistent product quality and maintaining standards through ongoing processes.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Leading and managing end-to-end processes for negotiating and agreeing on Quality Attributes Specifications (QAS) and standards for depot quality checks.
  2. Ensuring all products have QAS completed, approved, and active in line with critical path timings.
  3. Conducting scheduling, planning, and preparation for product assessment panels.
  4. Documenting outputs and actions from attribute panels, managing these with suppliers and SGS through to approval and specification activation.
  5. Collaborating with various stakeholders.
  6. Monitoring post-launch product quality against standards, reviewing complaints and sales data to identify issues.

Qualifications

  • Relevant technical/quality experience or qualifications in Food/FMCG.
  • Experience working with UK Retailers is advantageous.

Essential Experience

  • Practical knowledge of legislation and technical standards.
  • Product knowledge and experience delivering legal quality products, ideally in technical & process development.
  • Understanding of critical paths and launch processes.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in systems like Igloo or Ice Check.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office packages.
