Role OverviewIMI Worthing is focussed on delivering the very best in high stability, low noise high voltage power supplies for mass spectrometry, medical and industrial applications.
The role of Product Support Engineer will be based in the Design Engineering department, taking a key role in supporting the current product range, continuous improvement activities as well as Test Equipment design and support. The ability to communicate across departments is essential.
Work Environment: This is a fully on-site role.Key Responsibilities- Primary contact for internal product technical questions.
- Investigation and resolution of any Product issues including use of 8D for investigations
- Improvements to power supply designs from Continuous Improvement feedback
- Modification and enhancement of existing power supply designs to meet customer requirements
- Design and build of test equipment
- Documentation of work
- Updates to circuit schematic and layout of PCBs (both low and high voltage stages) using PC software tools.
- Involvement in alternative component selection and component obsolescence issues
- Customer application support
Critical Competencies for Success- HNC/HND in Electronic & Electrical Engineering or close derivative
- Understanding of fault finding techniques
- Understanding of analogue and digital electronics
- Knowledge of high voltage power supplies would be advantageous
- Task-focussed, self-motivated independent thinker able to contribute in a dynamic team environment
- The ability to work methodically through problems to find a solution.
- Effective communication of technical issues to others, both technical and non-technical
