Job summary

UnderwriteMe is hiring a Product Strategy Intern to support strategic development across the Protection Platform (PP) and potentially the Decision Platform (DP). The role focuses on validating growth opportunities in the UK and beyond, with emphasis on market sizing, competitive landscape, and proposition development.

You will work with the Head of Strategy, CPO, and Product Leadership, exploring long-term opportunities and the roadmap to launching new offerings.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years’ work experience from a consulting and strategy background.
• Experience working across Product and Tech.
• Currently studying for an MBA.
• Interest in tech start-ups / scale-ups and InsurTech sector.

Responsibilities

• Support strategy development for the Protection Platform (PP) and participate in the Decision Platform (DP).
• Validate growth and expansion opportunities for PP in the UK and beyond.
• Develop market sizing & dynamics analysis.
• Assess competitive landscape and identify right-to-win propositions.
• Outline long-term opportunities and potential moonshots.

Product Strategy Intern

UnderwriteMe is an InsurTech company and subsidiary of Pacific Life Re (PL Re), dedicated to transforming the life insurance industry through innovative data and technology products. Our mission is to make insurance more accessible by enabling the future of underwriting and the future of distribution for our clients. The Protection Platform (PP) is our digital distribution platform that connects advisers and insurers (B2B2C), helping to streamline the protection sales process and make protection easier to buy and sell. The Decision Platform (DP) is our B2B Enterprise Software product that aims to help insurers optimise their underwriting and claims process and realise that future of underwriting & claims. Both play an equally crucial role in achieving the mission. We are seeking a Business / Product Strategy Intern to support our strategy development within the Protection Platform. As you build context on the company, this may also lead to involvement on the Decision Platform.

Role & Responsibilities

• You will work alongside the Head of Strategy, the CPO, and the Product Leadership on both PP and DP.


• You will be focusing on validating growth and expansion opportunities for the PP in the UK and beyond.

Skills & Experience

• 3-5+ years’ work experience from a consulting and strategy background.


• Experience working across Product and Tech.


• Currently Studying for an MBA.


• Someone with a keen interest in tech start-ups / scale-ups and preferably the InsurTech sector.

This is a paid internship position (£25 per hour); you will be provided a defined scope for your first project and will be expected to define and scope out future projects with support of the teams.

We are open to part-time interns (2-3 days a week to fit around studying).
