Job Title: Product Sustainability & Compliance Analyst/ Product Stewardship Analyst

Team: Operations
Reports to: Sustainability Lead

Location: London, UK (3 days in-office per week)

About the Role

At Colebrook Bosson Saunders, we believe that sustainable design begins with informed choices. As our Product Sustainability & Compliance Analyst, you will assume a pivotal role in ensuring that our products conform to the highest standards of environmental safety and regulatory compliance. This can encompass chemical compliance, extended producer responsibility (EPR), life cycle assessments (LCA), carbon footprint analysis, and the promotion of sustainable product development and safety.

This is a data-driven, process-focused role suited to candidates with backgrounds in compliance, supply chain, product stewardship, environmental science, chemistry, or materials science. We also welcome applicants from other fields with relevant experience and a strong interest in environmental compliance frameworks, chemical disclosures, and lifecycle assessments. You’ll be responsible for managing our material and chemical data, coordinating data collection with suppliers, and managing internal and external data systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Materials, Chemicals & Certifications

  • Lead the development and maintenance of CBS’s materials and chemicals library to ensure full ingredient transparency, regulatory compliance, and support for third-party certifications.
  • Manage supplier disclosures and ensure product conformance with chemical regulations and frameworks (e.g. REACH, RoHS, Prop 65, LFI Red List).
  • Oversee the submission and ongoing maintenance of current and emerging certification requirements.
  • Support new product development compliance; ensuring all products meet chemical compliance standards, achieve key certifications and stewardship obligations for market access.

2. Regulatory and voluntary compliance

  • Lead CBS’s compliance with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations for packaging and products, including tracking obligations and ensuring timely submissions.
  • Ensuring global market access requirements are fulfilled for New Product Commercialisation (NPC) and existing products.
  • Managing and analysing data regarding preparing for upcoming regulatory and voluntary frameworks.
  • Translate legal and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable specifications and internal processes.

3. Lifecycle Assessments & Carbon Analysis

  • Conduct product Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and deliver carbon footprint analyses to identify opportunities for impact reduction aligned with our 2030 sustainability targets.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to collect accurate, verifiable data (e.g. recycled content, energy use, emissions, and waste).
  • Improve the quality, consistency, and traceability of carbon-related data across product lines.

What We’re looking for:

  • Background in environmental science, chemistry, materials science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in product compliance, environmental data analysis, or sustainability reporting.
  • Ability to translate regulations into clear, actionable insights and compliance workflows.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a process-driven mindset.
  • Strong data handling and documentation skills—can turn complex requirements into structured, repeatable processes.
  • Proactive and collaborative, with excellent cross-functional communication skills.
  • Eager to grow in sustainability and compliance.

Strong candidates will have:

  • Understanding of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes and product stewardship frameworks in the UK, EU, or globally.
  • Experience with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), or FSC CoC.
