We’re looking for a commercially minded and detail-focused Product Specialist to join our Buying team. You’ll work closely with the Category Manager to guide the development of our rug collections from your assigned country of origin – working with suppliers from the likes of Turkey, India, China and beyond. This role sits at the heart of product development combining manufacturing knowledge, trend insight and team collaboration to deliver a commercially successful, well-balanced range.

We’re Purpose-Driven. Since 1984, we’ve grown to become the largest in our sector and we’ve carried the same spirit with us every step of the way. We’re proud of our diverse, passionate team and the way we collaborate to make things happen. Our carefully crafted rugs are the centrepieces that bring rooms and people together. And that togetherness is the very essence of who we are.

You’ll Grow With Us. You’ll gain in-depth knowledge of regional production techniques, collaborate across departments and build a strong foundation in product strategy and commercial performance. Whether you’re supporting new launches or identifying range improvements, we’ll support your growth at every step.

Your Voice Matters. We value people who bring insight, ask smart questions and offer ideas that make things better. If you’re someone who cares about getting the details right and works well with others, you’ll help us shape products with real purpose and appeal.

Bring your Flair. You’ve got a good understanding of how products are made and sold. You enjoy working with others to turn big ideas into working ranges, and you know how to balance creativity with commercial thinking. You’re structured in your approach but flexible when needed and you’re always looking for what’s next.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong knowledge of homeware textile manufacturing, materials and production capabilities
  • Confidence analysing product performance, trends and market data
  • A commercial mindset - you understand how to balance creativity and profitability
  • A passion for product development and a sharp eye for detail and design
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Project coordination skills - able to keep things on track across multiple teams
  • Experience in a product-led business, ideally in home or textiles
  • Comfortable using data to guide decisions and influence others

Even Better If You Bring

  • Experience working directly with international manufacturers and suppliers – knowledge of specific regions is a plus
  • Familiarity with product launches, costing, or category expansion
  • A background in buying, merchandising or sourcing
  • Skills in competitive analysis and market performance reporting

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop deep knowledge of rug manufacturing methods in your assigned region
  • Monitor competitor activity, product performance and market trends to guide decisions
  • Support the Category Manager with product strategy, development and range management
  • Identify range gaps and suggest new ideas aligned with supply capabilities
  • Contribute to costing, pricing and positioning to ensure commercial success
  • Maintain alignment across the product portfolio and ensure brand consistency
  • Work closely with design, sourcing, sales and marketing teams to launch products successfully
  • Provide day-to-day support and guidance to Product Administrators to keep things running smoothly

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum (DOE)

Contract: Full Time, Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

Hybrid/On The Road Working

While you’re finding your feet at Flair, you will spend most of your days in the office where we work the core hours of 09:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday with flexible start/finish times according to your schedule and location needs.
