Job summary

SRT Marine Systems plc is seeking a Product Security Engineer to embed security into our product development lifecycle. The role collaborates with software developers, testers and product owners to ensure security is integral from design through delivery, with opportunities to grow into leadership of the security capability.

The position is primarily based in our Bristol office, with occasional travel to Cardiff and Bath and a flexible hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with the ability to read code and review designs.
• Experience in applying security across the software development lifecycle.
• Ability to model threats and assess risk pragmatically.
• Excellent communication to translate security concerns into actionable decisions.

Responsibilities

• Champion security within product development, shaping design and backlog decisions.
• Embed secure development practices across the SDLC (CI/CD, secure coding, reviews).
• Carry out threat modelling, design reviews and risk assessments for new and existing capabilities.
• Support remediation prioritisation and root cause analysis for vulnerabilities.
• Track third-party components for security and lead responses to incidents.
• Ensure security features are represented in product roadmap and design decisions.
