We are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Engineer to promote safety excellence in the design and delivery of advanced maritime products. The role involves shaping safety strategies from concept through lifecycle support and ensuring engineering teams embed robust safety standards throughout development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead product safety efforts for complex maritime systems from design to delivery
• Ensure safety is integrated at every stage of the lifecycle
• Guide teams on safety compliance with legislation and customer standards
• Manage safety management systems and documentation
• Deliver risk assessments, safety cases, and technical reports
• Collaborate across teams to resolve safety issues and improve processes

Requirements

• Strong experience in Product Safety Engineering within complex systems
• Knowledge of safety standards (e.g., HASAWA, COSHH, REACH, Def Stan 00-056, BS EN 61508)
• Degree in Engineering, Systems, or related field
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards it
• Member of a professional body (e.g., SaRS, IET, IMechE, SCSC)
