The role involves shaping safety strategies from concept through lifecycle support, ensuring engineering teams adhere to robust safety standards at every development phase.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead product safety efforts for complex maritime systems from design to delivery.
• Ensure safety is integrated throughout the entire lifecycle.
• Guide teams on compliance with safety legislation and customer standards.
• Manage safety management systems and documentation.
• Deliver risk assessments, safety cases, and technical reports.
• Collaborate across teams to resolve safety issues and improve processes.

Requirements:

• Strong experience in Product Safety Engineering within complex systems.
• Knowledge of safety standards (e.g., HASAWA, COSHH, REACH, Def Stan 00-056, BS EN 61508).
• Degree in Engineering, Systems, or related field.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards it.
• Membership in a professional body (e.g., SaRS, IET, IMechE, SCSC).
• Eligible for UK Eyes Only SC Clearance.
