Job description

Product Safety Engineer

Stevenage

6-month contract

Paying up to £55p/h (Inside IR35)

Responsibilities:

  1. Taking charge of identifying and managing Product Safety requirements derived from hazard and risk assessments.
  2. Collaborating in line with Project Safety Management Plans.
  3. Shaping the development of safe design through logical safety arguments, including comprehensive Safety Case justification reports.
  4. Facilitating hazard identification meetings and maintaining an up-to-date project hazard log.
  5. Conducting peer reviews and performing verification and assurance tasks to validate the robustness of the Safety Case and its supporting documentation.

Experience required:
  1. In-depth understanding of engineering safety management processes, including hazard analysis and safety case reports.
  2. Solid grasp of safety principles within systems engineering and their integration into effective engineering processes.
  3. Proven experience in creating detailed justification reports.
  4. Strong knowledge of Safety Engineering principles and practices.
  5. Familiarity with systems engineering tools and techniques (e.g., DOORS, Enterprise Architect) - Desirable.
  6. Experience in a defence or complex systems environment involving software products.
  7. Knowledge of JIRA - Desirable.
