What you will be doing:

• Serve as the main focal point for Product Safety Assurance of equipment design, following customer requirements.
• Provide credible advice and guidance to the wider business and external stakeholders.
• Ensure safety considerations are integral to the design process, considering the entire product lifecycle.
• Maintain and manage the Project Safety Management System for equipment design and delivery.
• Develop working practices to ensure cost-effective product safety management.
• Resolve Product Safety engineering issues, compile technical reports, and prepare presentations.
• Develop safety arguments for various equipment, employing all facets of the product safety lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with standards of Product Safety as per statutory, business, and customer requirements.
• Collaborate effectively as part of a team of Product Safety Engineers.

Your Skills and Experience:

• Proven competency in Product Safety Engineering, with successful experience in implementing a Product Safety Management System within complex systems.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable legislation and standards (e.g., HASAWA, COSHH, REACh, BS EN 61508, Def Stan 00-056, Def Stan 00-055).
• Degree in Engineering, Systems, or Safety discipline.
• Recognition or progression towards CEng status.
• Membership in relevant industry bodies (e.g., SCSC, SaRS, IET, IMechE).
