We are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Engineer to enhance safety in the design and delivery of advanced maritime products. This role involves shaping safety strategies from concept to lifecycle support, ensuring engineering teams adhere to robust safety standards throughout development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead product safety for complex maritime systems from design to delivery
2. Ensure safety is integrated at every stage of the lifecycle
3. Guide teams on safety compliance with legislation and customer standards
4. Manage safety management systems and documentation
5. Deliver risk assessments, safety cases, and technical reports
6. Collaborate across teams to resolve safety issues and improve processes

Requirements:

• Experience in Product Safety Engineering within complex systems
• Knowledge of safety standards (e.g., HASAWA, COSHH, REACH, Def Stan 00-056, BS EN 61508)
• Degree in Engineering, Systems, or related field
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards it
• Membership in a professional body (e.g., SaRS, IET, IMechE, SCSC)
• Eligible for UK Eyes Only SC Clearance
