About the Role

We are looking for a no-nonsense Product Safety Engineer who can ruthlessly identify risks and hard-wire safety into every stage of our defence missile program. Your jobis to make sure nothing leaves the factory for the field without meeting the letter and spirit of MIL-STD-882E, IEC 61508, and every other standard that keeps operators and civilians alive. This means dissecting hazards, translating them into precise engineering requirements, and standing your ground with auditors, regulators, and colleagues until the system is unquestionably safe.Your expertise will enable us to produce affordable defence solutions at scale, rapidly and reliably — all while helping to defend the free world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct hazard analyses and risk assessments to derive functional design requirements and recommend appropriate safety protocols.
  • Ensure the compliance to safety regulations and standards (e.g. MIL-STD-882E, IEC 61508, AQAP 2110).
  • Plan, organize, and lead safety audits with independent certified organizations such as TÜV and Dekra.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety protocols into product development process.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents related to product use and implement corrective measures.
  • Prepare and present reports and documentation for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct research on the latest safety standards and update safety requirements as necessary.
We Would Love You to Have
  • Educational Background:BSc degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field. Certification in safety management is preferred.
  • Experience:Proven track recordas a Product Safety Engineer, or a similar role in the defence or aerospace industry.
  • Knowledge:In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and procedures (e.g.MIL-STD-882E, IEC 61508, AQAP 2110).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and safety inspections.
  • Attributes:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Performance: Proven track record in delivering outstanding results through collaborative teamwork in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
