Job description

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

At Precision Fuel & Hydration (PF&H), we help athletes nail their fueling and hydration using a suite of cutting-edge tools, years of experience as athletes and Sports Scientists, and a unique range of fuel and multi-strength electrolyte supplements.

We work with a long list of pro teams in the Premier League, NFL, NBA, Major League Baseball, the UCI Cycling Tour, and beyond, as well as elite and amateur athletes in sports like triathlon, cycling, running, and tennis.

We're not just a ‘sports nutrition business’, we're also a high-end sports consultancy and an innovative e-commerce startup, with a heavy focus on technology and research. We’re a global business, with sales in 90+ countries, but we’re still a small, tight-knit team who love what we do and the space we’re in.

Our customers tell us that our products, tools, content, and customer service are top-notch. We’ve built a robust, global operation and supply chain, and we’re growing fast.

Now we’re on the lookout for a Product & Quality Manager to help us take that growth to the next level.

In this newly created position, you’ll be owning all things product at PF&H, driving the development and testing of new products (or improvements to existing ones), mapping out the journey from concept to launch, and leading on quality, compliance and packaging along the way. We’re looking for someone who’s organised, enjoys being a technical expert but happy to roll up their sleeves when needed. If you’re the kind of person who is passionate about products and wants to help us continue to raise the bar, we'd love to chat.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Driving new product development and continuous improvement across our range
  • Leading the project management of new product launches/product enhancements
  • Obtaining feedback and insights to enhance production/development processes
  • Owning relationships and contracts with suppliers and testing partners
  • Auditing and tracking the performance of suppliers and secondary suppliers
  • Leading the response and solution to any product quality concerns
  • Enhancing and maintaining quality control protocols and appropriate documentation
  • Managing label claim testing (e.g. carb and electrolyte content)
  • Overseeing organoleptic testing (flavour, texture, consistency)
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) testing
  • Managing a retained sample process and maintaining a database of results
  • Overseeing packaging and label compliance and artwork approval for multi-region sales
  • Ensuring our packaging is accurate, and aligned with current regulations
  • Exploring packaging innovations including efficiencies, retail ready improvements and sustainability

About you:

  • Proven experience in a product development/quality assurance role
  • Expertise in the food, beverage or supplement space is very advantageous
  • Strong understanding of product labelling and allergen regulations
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
  • Excellent communicator, with the ability to build strong relationships across international teams and external partners
  • Problem solving attitude and data driven approach to decision making
  • Innovative thinker with a passion for food and drink trends and the ability to translate them into successful products
  • Previous experience working in a dynamic, e-commerce environment desirable

What we offer:

  • All the electrolyte drinks, fuel, and team merch you’ll ever need!
  • An opportunity to be part of a passionate, innovative, and fast-growing company
  • Work with a diverse team of experts in sports science, nutrition, and tech
  • The chance to contribute to the development of a company making a real impact in the world of sports

Other information:

Our HQ is just outside Christchurch (BH23 7DX) on the south coast. We’d love for you to be onsite at least three days a week, it’s where a lot of the magic happens! There will also be the occasional bit of travel thrown in.
