Job Description:

As a Quality Engineer, you will drive product field quality improvements. You will provide direction and support for implementing and maintaining tools and methods used to improve system reliability. Lead the implementation and application of advanced quality processes, methods, and tools across all new product development programs. Develop and report critical product metrics for warranty and reliability tracking and projections. Collaborate across all product development areas to foster a strong quality culture organization-wide. Lead, coordinate, and support multiple quality improvement projects, driving sustainable corrective actions to address product and process issues.

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Identify top customer field issues based on data, assign owners, and report weekly on status.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions, evaluate their effectiveness, and recommend remedial activities.
  • Visit customers to observe installations, document improvement needs, understand issues, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Track shipments of new products, analyze issues with Pareto analysis, and report findings while assisting in problem ownership.
  • Support product transfer processes, provide feedback on product audits, and report early field issues.
  • Present quality performance reports and updates on initiatives to management.
  • Develop 8D and customer reports on issues, communicate investigation outcomes internally and externally, and work with engineering, service, manufacturing, sales, and supplier quality teams to resolve issues.
  • Participate in New Product Development projects, track issues, ensure effective resolution, and manage risk plans.
  • Create analytic reports on warranty data using Excel, SQL, and Power BI.

Who are you?

  • BA or BS degree or equivalent experience
  • Background in engineering or a technical field
  • 3-5+ years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in engineering quality roles
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in data analysis, developing performance metrics, and goal setting based on product and process data
  • Experience in generating and presenting reports using Excel, PowerPoint, and Vertiv system applications
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D problem-solving or similar techniques
