Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Product & Proposition manager to explore emerging technologies, including digital assets and Agentic AI, and to shape ideas from inception to execution. You will develop compelling propositions for the evolving payments landscape and present them to senior stakeholders.

You will conduct market research, analyse opportunities, and build robust business cases, delivering executive-quality PowerPoint presentations to inform leadership decisions and drive go-to-market

Responsibilities

  • Development of customer level strategies and solutions tailored to customers’ needs.
  • Subject Matter Expert in the Product/Proposition team, guiding stakeholders in applying products and journeys.
  • Development of product propositions and service strategy; define priorities and lead execution.
  • Develop different commercial and business models with understanding of financial drivers of P&L for the segment.
  • Evaluate technical feasibility, legal compliance, and risks for new product development and launch.
  • Monitor market trends and collect feedback through prototypes, user testing, and beta programs to refine products.
  • Manage comprehensive launch plans and deployments including timelines, marketing, training, and communications.
  • Monitor metrics like adoption, usage, customer satisfaction, and revenue to assess performance against goals.

Join us as a Product & Proposition manager where you will explore emerging technologies, including digital assets and Agentic AI, and identify how they can be applied to the evolving payments landscape. In this highly strategic role, you'll conduct market research, analyse opportunities, build compelling propositions, and confidently pitch recommendations to senior stakeholders. Success requires considerable stakeholder management skills, with the ability to gather insights, influence decision-makers, and respond quickly to ad hoc requests from leadership. You'll be comfortable shaping ideas from inception to execution and highly proficient in PowerPoint, creating impactful presentations that bring innovative concepts to life.

To be successful as a Product and Proposition you should have the following essential skills:

  • Considerable stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships, gather insights, and influence decision-making across multiple levels of an organisation.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, including experience analysing data, identifying market opportunities, and developing robust commercial business cases.
  • Proven ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations through data-driven commercial analysis and strategic thinking.
  • Experience contributing to or leading proposition development, from initial concept through to value proposition creation and business case development.
  • Exposure to product development, including assessing market needs, shaping innovative solutions, and supporting go-to-market strategies.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Some Other Highly Valued Skills May Include
  • Experience working with frontier technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging technology trends.
  • Knowledge of the payments industry, with an understanding of market dynamics, challenges, and innovation opportunities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, with the ability to create clear, engaging, and executive-level presentations.

This role can be based in London, Manchester, Northampton and Glasgow.

Purpose of the role

To manage and develop existing and new products and/or services; and where applicable, ownership of related customer and colleague journeys, develops the product strategy, drive change through Barclays execution teams, make key decisions in the product lifecycle and own associated outcomes for customers, colleagues and the bank, achieved through appropriate service level agreements, regulatory compliance, risk management and controls.

Accountabilities
  • Development of customer level strategies & solutions that are tailored to customers’ needs.
  • Subject Matter Expert in the applicable Product/Proposition team and be able to confidently guide and advise stakeholders at all levels in the Bank on the application of existing and new products/propositions and related customer and colleague journeys.
  • Development of product propositions, and/or service strategy, define the priorities for delivering the outcomes needed to deliver the strategy and lead execution of the priorities.
  • Development of different commercial and business models through a strong understanding of the financial drivers of the P&L for the relevant segment/ proposition/ journey.
  • Evaluation of the technical feasibility, legal compliance, and potential risks associated with the development and launch of the new product.
  • Monitoring of market trends and analysis feedback from internal employees and target customers through prototypes, user testing sessions, and beta programs to identify areas for improvement to refine the product / process before launch.
  • Management of comprehensive launch plans and technical deployments for products that establish rollout timelines, marketing strategies, training initiatives and communication channels to promote the launch new products effectively.
  • Monitoring of key metrics such as adoption rates, usage patterns, customer satisfaction (including complaints), and revenue generation to assess the product's performance against set goals.
