Location
We currently have a permanent opportunity for a Product & Process Technician to join our Bio-Resource department to cover the Hull and Bridlington area. Ideally, applicants would need to live within a reasonable commutable distance of Hull WWTW.
Work Type
This is a permanent role. Our assets operate 24/7, 365 days a year. The role involves working 37 hours per week on a 7-day rota, including weekends, providing on-site cover from 07:00 to 19:00. Once fully trained, you'll participate in an out-of-hours rota for emergency cover. Weekend work is expected with compensatory rest days.
About the Role
Join Yorkshire Water's Bio-Resources department as a Product & Process Technician and contribute to providing excellent service while caring for the environment. Your responsibilities include:
- Safely undertaking operational and maintenance activities at wastewater treatment works.
- Performing routine manual and technical tasks, including operations, instrument calibration, and basic maintenance.
- Managing workload based on resources and prioritizing tasks.
- Maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to Health and Safety procedures.
- Managing contractors, inducting visitors, and resolving hazards.
- Using process information to optimize site processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to learn complex technical processes and problem-solve.
- Experience with manual and technical tasks in operational environments.
- Ability to prioritize and take ownership of site issues.
- Effective team working skills and proficiency with IT systems.
- Willingness to work at heights, in confined spaces, and handle raw sewerage.
- Must pass medical criteria including BMI, vision, blood pressure, hearing, and Spirometry tests.
- Valid driving license with no more than 6 points.
