About the role

Do you have working knowledge of product and pricing strategies, and how to manage the specific risks they pose? We’re seeking an expert Product and Pricing Senior Risk Manager to support our Head of Operational Risk in making effective risk management simple and accessible to all staff within AXA Commercial. You’ll communicate risk management concepts clearly, with a good understanding of insurance risk and its transition in a diversified commercial insurance portfolio.

You’ll lead and develop a team of risk experts, working closely with colleagues across all lines of defence to understand and implement the AXA UK Risk Framework. This includes ensuring the embedding of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and associated UK and Group requirements within the Underwriting, Pricing, and Product teams, with robust controls, processes, and policies.

At AXA, we promote a flexible work environment, with at least 40% of your week away from home, increasing to most of your working week from September 2025. This includes attending offices, visiting clients, or industry events.

Key responsibilities

1. Work with Line 2 Risk team to embed the requirements of the Risk Framework effectively.
2. Maintain a holistic view of the Risk and Control profile of business units, supporting the Head of Operational Risk.
3. Deliver risk reports to enable risk owners to recognize and manage exposure.
4. Support key strategy and change activities within UPP.
5. Coordinate risk activities within the Product and Pricing Risk team.
6. Advocate for customer-centric decision making within UPP.
7. Assist leadership in managing key risks.
8. Coach and partner with business areas to ensure accurate risk assessment and management.

Qualifications and skills

1. Strong data processing and presentation skills to drive action.
2. Experience in delivering results through others and developing risk teams.
3. Knowledge of FCA/PRA requirements, conduct, and operational risks in product and pricing.
4. Pragmatic, solution-oriented, and able to work at pace.
5. Experience overseeing risk and control frameworks and policies.
6. Excellent attention to detail and influencing skills to foster a risk-aware culture.
7. Strong communication skills for facilitating discussions and report writing.
8. Collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement.
