Job summary

Allianz Global Investors is offering a 16-month Graduate Programme designed to build knowledge across Investments, Distribution and Product teams. From day one, you will contribute to meaningful work and learn from experienced colleagues, with hands-on experience, structured learning, rotations and project work.

You will join the Product Solutions & Marketing function, shaping the strategic agenda for PSM and gaining exposure to global rotations, including an international rotation in Frankfurt.

Qualifications

• University degree with strong academic record; up to 2 years' work exp in relevant fields.
• Solid proficiency in English; additional languages beneficial
• Strong MS Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint skills.
• Experience with VBA for large Excel datasets; Python/SQL knowledge is a plus
• Experience developing AI-driven solutions and using GenAI tools is desirable
• Ability to visualize data for executive-level understanding and draw insights

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research and data analysis to support product strategy.

Your experience on the programme

During the programme, you will:

• Build your understanding of AllianzGI through virtual learning sessions covering different areas of the business, from Investments and Distribution to technology and strategic topics

Team and responsibilities

Your team is part of the Product Solutions & Marketing (PSM) function which is dedicated to ensuring our product offering and market positioning best reflect the needs of our clients. This function serves as the nexus between Investments and Distribution to drive the success of the overall business. PSM is home to expertise spanning Products, Product Specialists, Marketing and Digital Business. It serves as a strategic centre of excellence within the firm for all product and solution dimensions.

You will join the PSM Strategy team and play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic agenda for PSM which will impact the overall strategic direction of Allianz Global Investors.

What you will do

• Conduct industry research to gather market intelligence across a range of topics impacting the asset management industry
• Use Microsoft office tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBI and CoPilot (along with other AI tools such as Claude) to support the analysis and presentation of gathered market intelligence
• Support efforts to draw conclusions and make recommendations for strategic decision making based on industry research
• Facilitate discussions with counterparts in Investments and Distribution about strategic positioning of our product platform
• Lead cross-functional strategic projects, manage effective collaboration with internal stakeholders, design and execute innovation initiatives, and partner with senior leadership to ensure our product offering is competitively positioned and forward-looking
• Plus, further tasks depending on business requirements and personal interests across the Product Solutions & Marketing
• After completion of the programme, you will join your team in your final landing role. This role starts as a Market Intelligence role and then evolves to using the data to inspire change, identify trends, make proposals, etc.
• Next step: managing a process and working with the different teams in a managerial role and coming up with a proposal.

What you bring

• Excellent university degree with a maximum of 2 years of experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Analytics, Business Analytics. Interest in financial markets is advantageous
• Proficiency in English is required, further languages are beneficial (especially German)
• Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint
• Keen on working with data in VBA, coordinating large Excel sheets and building AI agents to analyze large sets of data
• Experience linked to data aggregation, processing and visualization with Python/SQL is a plus
• Experience developing AI-driven solutions, working with GenAI tools, or building AI agents to automate data collection, analysis or reporting is highly desirable
• Capacity to visualize data and make it easily understandable for an executive level
• Strong affinity with financial data as well as analytical skills and structured problem-solving skills
• Naturally curious, with a desire to understand market dynamics, industry trends and the drivers behind the data to support strategic decision-making

Rotations

Rotations are an important element of the Graduate Programme. The business/function areas, location and duration will be agreed between you and your manager and may vary depending on our needs and individual development. For this role the possible rotations could include (but are not limited to):

• Business areas: across PSM and potentially the CPO office/business management side of the pillar
• International: Frankfurt
