Job description

Product Owner

Location: London

Type: Permanent

Being a Product Owner at Delta Capita means being the go-to partner for our clients, helping them navigate complex reporting needs with confidence. You're not just solving problems; you're building trust, driving improvements, and making a real impact in how the financial world stays connected and compliant.

As a member of the Product Management group within Delta Capita's new Trade Reporting Product business line, the Product Owner is responsible for translating the product vision into squad deliverables to achieve the product strategy, aligned with maximising value to the client. This involves managing scope and the product backlog collaboratively with the squad, Product Manager, clients (internal/external), and key stakeholders.

The Product Management group provides overall product development & business analysis for all pre and post reporting initiatives through DC's Trade Reporting suite of products, including Report Hub. The business supports regulatory trade reporting across multiple jurisdictions, including all derivative asset classes and SFTs. The team works closely with internal stakeholders and business heads to assess enhancements and revisions of the product service offering, as well as with client stakeholders to identify, describe, plan, and deliver initiatives.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee an Agile squad as Product Owner, partnering with internal teams to deliver new features, ensuring proposed changes are reviewed, feedback incorporated, and impacts communicated.
  • Manage the product backlog in collaboration with the Product Manager, prioritising and delivering against the roadmap to meet client demands.
  • Gather requirements for upcoming changes, including regulatory updates, and contribute to service descriptions.
  • Identify potential risks to project objectives and escalate as needed.
  • Review and create enhancement requests and defects, prioritising using Agile tools like JIRA.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and ensure clear, timely communication.
  • Represent the customer in decision-making, including participation in external and relevant industry groups.
  • Facilitate horizon scanning across trade reporting requirements, regulators, and industry groups.
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in areas of product and regulatory reporting (EMIR, CFTC, ASIC, MAS, MiFIR), attending client meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar Product Owner role.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's or equivalent experience advantageous.
  • Knowledge of financial services operations, especially Trade Booking and Regulatory Trade Reporting, with experience in EMIR, ASIC, MAS, MiFIR, or MiFID II.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology, including defining MVPs and prioritising effectively.
