Job summary

Morgan McKinley (South West) is seeking a Development Manager for the Digital Platform & API to shape our API integration layer and a portfolio of around 20 application platforms. You will own the roadmap and prioritize features, balancing outsourcing with internal delivery to drive modernization and scalable, secure services.

Qualifications

• Agile delivery experience applying frameworks to digital product backlogs.
• Experience managing external software vendors and technical architects.
• Background across various industries including FinTech.
• Understanding of API design (REST/SOAP) and enterprise landscapes.
• Strong stakeholder and operational focus balancing rollouts and live systems.
• Desirable: Certifications in Agile or Product Ownership (e.g., PSPO, CSPO, SAFe).

Responsibilities

• Product Ownership & Strategy: Lead the roadmap, product backlog, and feature prioritization for the API integration layer and ~20 application platforms.
• Outsourced Delivery & Vendor Management: Direct external software providers and internal Solution Architects to translate business requirements into robust platform capabilities.
• Agile Leadership: Champion agile ways of working, facilitating core ceremonies to balance BAU improvements with long-term projects.
• Business-Wide Alignment: Engage with stakeholders across marketing, operations, and executive management to ensure platforms meet commercial goals.
• Governance & Standards: Collaborate with information security, compliance, and architectural boards to ensure ISO27001, GDPR, and enterprise risk standards.
• Future Leadership & Growth: Oversee team performance with potential to expand line management or matrix leadership as footprint grows.
