ROLE SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Product Manager, the Product Owner takes agreed product initiatives, breaks them down, and shares them with their squad. The Product Owner has a detailed understanding of a particular domain and the underlying technology. They possess the necessary technical understanding to ensure the appropriate use of logic that the coded solution might capture. While maintaining a detailed view of the initiative and the objective, you will write user stories and create test criteria that demonstrate clarity to the team. You will involve them early enough to ensure their input helps shape the solution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Work with the Product Manager to translate the Product Roadmap into a backlog of initiatives.
  2. Engage the engineering team within your squad to align on approach and implementation details.
  3. Facilitate stakeholder reviews to gather sufficient details on customer product requirements, ensuring all parties are represented.
  4. Define user journeys and the customer experience, working with a design team to deliver wireframes and UX; you will own the concept.
  5. Break down epics into features and PBIs to ensure value is realized at the right time.
  6. Attend team and product initiative meetings; collaborate with the squad to refine, understand, and prepare stories for development.
  7. Plan and schedule the 'Ready for Dev' backlog of stories for the squad to ensure smooth flow.
  8. Work with the Product Manager to monitor product KPIs and metrics, discussing and reprioritizing as needed.
  9. Maintain documentation associated with the product with diligence to ensure visibility and understanding of all software elements.
  10. Add value to our clients, colleagues, and stakeholders by practicing and promoting ENSEK values.
  11. Promote and maintain a positive, results-oriented work environment, building partnerships and teamwork across ENSEK.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  1. Ability to analyze complex product requirements, influence, and persuade others.
  2. Ability to manage multiple projects, planning, and organizing effectively.
  3. Client-focused approach, utilizing knowledge and experience, demonstrating diplomacy and tact.

SOFT SKILLS:

  1. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others across the business.
  2. A flexible attitude and ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
  3. Values teamwork, with remote working experience being advantageous.
  4. Proven ability to develop strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  5. Experience working in an agile environment and within the Energy/Utilities sector is advantageous but not essential.
