Job summary

MPower Plus is seeking a Product Owner to take overall ownership of a single product backlog containing 2–3 features, journeys or technology components. The role oversees incremental value delivery and ensures the team prioritises the right work for customers and stakeholders.

You will drive backlog ownership, agile delivery, and a customer-led roadmap while maintaining governance and release readiness with the wider team.

Job description

Product Owner is the overall ownership for a single product backlog which contains 2-3 features, journeys or technology components. They are typically a Lab or Team Lead (containing 2-3 Feature or Component teams), reporting into the Business Platform Lead or Lab Lead. This role is responsible to oversee the release of incremental value within an overall product, with the primary aim of delivering value to customers and stakeholders by ensuring the team focuses on the right priorities.

• Multi-team backlog ownership: Evidence of owning a product backlog supported by multiple teams, at a scope comparable to 2–3 features, journeys or technology components.
• Agile product delivery: Evidence of prioritising and refining the backlog, defining customer-focused user stories and improving how cross-functional teams deliver incremental value.
• Customer-led roadmap shaping: Evidence of shaping a Lab or Team roadmap, using customer journey insights and product performance or benefits data to guide decisions.
• Change governance and release readiness: Evidence of accountability for product governance and readiness for implementation, including testing, training and communications delivered with the wider team.
