Job summary

Mploy Group in Bristol is seeking a Product Owner to drive product delivery in a hybrid, growth-focused tech business. You will translate strategy into priorities, collaborate with engineering, hardware and R&D teams, and help deliver a major Innovate UK-funded programme.

You will own the backlog, refine user stories, and balance customer requirements with commercial priorities as the product evolves and scales.”

Product Owner – Product Delivery

The Opportunity

We’re partnering with an innovative, investor-backed technology business that’s entering an exciting phase of commercial growth. As product demand increases, they’re looking for a Product Owner to work closely with engineering teams, ensuring product strategy is translated into clear priorities and successfully delivered.

Initially, you’ll play a key role in delivering a major Innovate UK-funded product development programme, helping coordinate engineering activities, manage the product backlog and ensure delivery remains aligned with customer and commercial priorities. As the business continues to scale, you’ll become a key member of the Product function, supporting future product releases and ongoing product development.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for:

• Owning and managing the product backlog.

About You

You’ll enjoy working closely with engineering teams and be passionate about turning ideas into successful products.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager within a technology or engineering environment.


• Experience managing product backlogs, user stories and product priorities.


• Strong understanding of Agile product development methodologies.


• Experience working closely with software and multidisciplinary engineering teams.


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.


• Strong organisational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.


• A proactive, delivery-focused mindset with a genuine passion for technology.

Desirable

• Previous experience delivering complex engineering or technology products, particularly within hardware, electronics, instrumentation, manufacturing, deep-tech or other technically advanced environments.


• Experience supporting innovation, R&D or publicly funded technology programmes.


• Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps or similar Agile delivery tools.


• Exposure to hardware/software integration and complex technical systems.
