Job description

We are looking for a highly capable Product Manager - VAS to own the services and capability to supplement our FTTP, Ethernet and SoGEA connectivity portfolio.

In this role, you will input into the strategy that flows into the development of a product and responsible for specifying requirements for its productization, GTM strategy, commercial proposition and in life management of the product.

The VAS product line consists of traditional services such as CPE but we don’t want to limit thinking to the traditional, we have in-house capability such as aquila Pulse and Data & Insights that strengthen our competitive position and resonate with our Partners.

You will be responsible for driving the VAS roadmap, working product management, technical product management, pre-sales, sales and the Partners themselves, ensuring APFN adds demonstratable value and differentiation to our Partners.

What you will be doing:

  • Own and accountable for the development of the end-to-end VAS product roadmap that will be published to our Partners, from requirements gathering through to deployment and continuous improvement
  • Managing every aspect of a product's development from conception to completion
  • Working with Partners and utilising analyst / market insight in assessing market demand to ensure validity of every product both active and planned
  • Determining the right features for a product to ensure its effectiveness within the market
  • Identifying and defining the target customer's needs and using this information to develop relevant products
  • Oversee product strategy development and defining the steps required to bring the product to fruition
  • Determine the GTM and commercial proposition to drive growth and increased penetration across the UK footprint
  • Focusing on developing API first and automated interactions to drive volume in a wholesale market
  • Driving best practice governance and product in life management

About you:

We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused VAS Product Manager with proven experience in the wholesale telecoms industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defining product requirements and budgets, particularly within technologies such as Ethernet, FTTP, and SOGEA.

You’ll be naturally curious and driven to innovate, constantly seeking new ways to add value to our connectivity portfolio. A customer-first mindset is essential, ensuring that product development is always aligned with user needs and expectations.

Strong communication and leadership skills are key, especially when collaborating across teams. You should be confident in your critical thinking and risk management abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a solid analytical approach. Operating in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment, you’ll be self-motivated and empowered to take initiative and drive results.
