Job summary

Civica is seeking a Product Manager for Transport with a track record in software product leadership. You will define strategic product vision, drive roadmaps, and lead a cross-functional team across engineering, design, marketing, and commercial peers to deliver high-impact transport solutions.

In this role, you will shape product strategy, conduct user research, and manage lifecycle from ideation to launch.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience in a software or product-led organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify market opportunities and solve product-related issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholders, including executives and customers.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer needs, market trends, and business goals to define and refine the product roadmap.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, commercial, and customer success teams to ensure successful product development and launches.
  • Conduct customer interviews, surveys, and market research to gather feedback and inform product decisions.
  • Oversee the product lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring timely delivery of features and releases.
  • Plan and execute product launches with clear positioning and messaging in collaboration with Product Marketing.
  • Analyze data to measure product performance, identify improvements, and drive data-driven decisions.
  • Champion knowledge sharing and maintain design documentation across teams.

As a Product Manager, you are responsible for defining the strategic vision for your team driven by Civica’s overall vision and creating product roadmaps that align to Civica’s strategic goals. Responsible for leading other product managers, collaborating with product design, user research, engineering and commercial teams. Overseeing lifecycle management of your product, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission and vision of becoming a global GovTech champion, whilst delivering critical products and services to citizens around the world.

What you will do to be successful in this role
Key responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer needs, market trends, and business goals to define and refine the product roadmap
  • Work closely with various stakeholders, including engineering, design, marketing, commercial, and customer success teams to ensure successful product development and launch
  • Conduct customer interviews, surveys, and market research to gather feedback and insights that inform product decisions Hands-on approach to defining and prioritising product requirements to guide the engineering process
  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring timely and successful delivery of product features and releases
  • Plan and execute successful product launches collaborating closely with Product Marketing team, including developing launch plans, positioning, and messaging
  • Analyse data and metrics to measure product performance, identify areas for improvement, and make informed data-driven product decisions
  • Champion a strong culture of knowledge sharing and product decision and design documentation
  • 5+ years of relevant product management experience, working in a modern software or product led organisation
  • Strong analytical skills to identify market opportunities and solve complex product-related issues.
  • Ability to navigate and address the complexities of product lifecycle management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, including executives, customers, and team members
  • Continuously seeking to understand customer needs, pain points, and motivations to develop products that meet customer requirements and deliver value
  • Strong analytical skills to collect, analyse, and interpret data to inform product decisions
  • Capable of prioritising features, requirements, and tasks based on customer needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
  • Driving force behind building and execute a product roadmap and strategy that aligns with customer needs and company goals
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success
  • Flexible to adapt to changing market conditions, customer needs, and business priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills to overcome technical, business, and customer challenges
  • Operates with Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, to manage product development and collaborate with engineering teams
  • Ability to craft compelling stories to communicate product vision, value, and benefits to various stakeholders at different levels
  • Experience leading geographically distributed teams
  • Experience with market research, competitive analysis, and market trend analysis Familiarity with UX design principles and human-centred design methodologies
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS
