iO Associates is seeking an experienced Product Manager to join our Product capability as a Senior Consultant, shaping digital products and services across Government and Defence. You’ll work within multidisciplinary agile teams, balancing user needs, business priorities and technical constraints to set a clear product vision and deliver outcomes.

Hybrid work with 1–3 days a month on-site in London or Manchester. Active SC clearance is essential to start.

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to join our Product capability as a Senior Consultant, shaping the direction of complex digital products and services across Government and Defence.

You will work within multidisciplinary agile teams, bringing together user needs, business priorities and technical considerations to set a clear product vision and make sure products deliver meaningful outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Define and communicate product vision, strategy, goals and roadmaps.
• Understand user and business needs and translate them into clear product outcomes and priorities.
• Make evidence-based prioritisation decisions, balancing user needs, business objectives and technical constraints.
• Engage senior stakeholders to understand requirements, manage expectations and build alignment around product direction.
• Lead products through discovery, development, testing, launch and continuous improvement.
• Use data, research and feedback to measure product performance and inform future priorities.
• Identify dependencies, risks and opportunities across the product lifecycle.
• Work closely with User Researchers, Designers, Engineers, Architects and Delivery colleagues.
• Champion agile, user-centred and iterative approaches to digital delivery.
• Contribute to the development of Product capability and good practice.

What We’re Looking For

• Active SC clearance (essential).
• Strong experience as a Product Manager or similar digital product role.
• A track record of defining product vision, strategy, objectives and roadmaps.
• Experience managing products through different stages of the product lifecycle, from discovery through to live operation.
• Confidence using evidence, research and data to inform product decisions.
• Strong senior stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to balance strategic priorities with effective delivery in complex environments.
• Experience working within agile, multidisciplinary digital delivery teams.
• Strong understanding of user-centred product development.
• Government, Defence or wider public-sector digital delivery experience is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with the GOV.UK Service Standard and Government Digital and Data approaches would be beneficial.
