Location: Homeworker/Hybrid - Depending on proximity to an NEC office

Shape the future of local government tech

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for building impactful products that make a real difference? NEC is looking for a Product Manager to lead our Land & Property portfolio—covering Planning, Building Control, and Land Charges.

You will play a key role in shaping the product vision, aligning it with industry trends and customer needs, and translating that vision into a clear roadmap and successful market delivery. You’ll collaborate with customers, government bodies, and internal teams to drive product strategy, build strong partnerships, and deliver solutions that transform how local authorities serve citizens.

What you’ll be doing:
  1. Own the product vision and roadmap for our Land & Property suite
  2. Translate strategy into requirements, wireframes, and prototypes in collaboration with business analysts
  3. Collaborate with the Head of Product and our Sales and Marketing teams to develop effective pricing and positioning strategies
  4. Lead product delivery from concept through to launch, working closely with the Development teams to ensure high-quality execution and customer satisfaction
  5. Collaborate with local authorities, government departments (like MHCLG, LABC, HMLR), and industry partners to understand frontline challenges and adapt product features accordingly
  6. Stay ahead of legislative changes and ensure our solutions are always compliant and competitive
  7. Organise and lead workshops and user groups to keep the customer voice at the centre
  8. Spot growth opportunities and help expand our market share across the UK—and potentially beyond
  9. Champion digital transformation and business process improvement through NEC solutions
  10. Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to continuously refine the product offering
Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  1. Solid understanding of one or more areas in the Land & Property domain (Planning, Building Control, Land Charges)
  2. Experience with local government and their processes
  3. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  4. A passion for user-centric design and continuous improvement
  5. Great at turning complex customer needs into clear, actionable product features
  6. Comfortable working across teams and managing multiple stakeholders
  7. Curious, proactive, and always looking for ways to improve and grow

Sound like you? Apply now and help us transform the way local government works for everyone.
