Product Manager – Macro & Commodity Data

Job summary

Bloomberg is building a new Macro and Commodity Research Data portfolio in London and seeks an experienced Product Manager to own end-to-end development, requirements, and delivery for data products used in quantitative investment workflows.

You will collaborate with researchers, data scientists, engineers and sales to translate client needs into clear specifications, shape product strategy, and drive adoption with a focus on data quality, APIs, cloud delivery and interoperability.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in product management, financial data, investment research or related role.
• Knowledge of macroeconomic or commodity markets and related data domains.
• Familiarity with quantitative research and data-driven investment workflows.
• Experience gathering client requirements and translating workflows into specs.
• Commercial judgement and ability to monetize product value.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with evidence-based reasoning.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with modern data platforms, APIs and cloud delivery.
• Working proficiency in Python, R, SQL or similar languages.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related fields.

Responsibilities

• Own development and management of Macro and Commodity Data products from opportunity to launch and enhancement.
• Develop subject-matter expertise in macroeconomic or commodity datasets for relevant workflows.
• Engage with researchers, portfolio managers, data scientists and engineers to map needs and validate solutions.
• Translate client and market requirements into clear product specifications with data quality and interoperability in mind.
• Assess opportunities considering demand, differentiation, market size and revenue potential.
• Contribute to commercial strategy including packaging, pricing and monetisation.
• Build business cases using client evidence and market analysis to inform investments.
• Define objectives and success metrics; monitor adoption and guide roadmap iterations.
• Prioritise backlogs across development, quality and client commitments.
• Collaborate with data, engineering, sales, implementation and support teams to deliver and mitigate risks.
