Job description

At Expedia Group, we help travelers explore the world, one journey at a time. As a global travel company powered by passionate people, trusted partnerships, and leading technology, we connect travelers, partners, and advertisers through our consumer brands, B2B network, and travel advertising business. Here, you'll do meaningful work that helps millions of people discover, book, and experience travel with more ease, confidence, and joy. Our five Behaviors-Traveler First, Think Big, Operate with Excellence, Ownership Mindset, and Succeed Together help foster a supportive environment where people can grow their careers and have the flexibility, benefits, and support to do their best work. Join us and build for travelers everywhere. We are looking for a Product Manager II to help shape and scale the personalisation platform that powers relevant experiences for travellers across the customer journey. In this role, you will focus on one of personalisation’s most important challenges: helping the business make useful, timely decisions when we know little or nothing about a traveller. You will lead platform product for experiences serving cold-start, new, and anonymous travellers - using context, intent, behavioural signals, experimentation, and machine-learning capabilities to create relevance from the first interaction. You will partner closely with engineering, data science, design, analytics, marketing, and customer-facing product teams to turn platform capabilities into measurable traveller and business outcomes. This is a hands-on product role for someone who can move between customer problems, technical trade-offs, and delivery details.

In this role, you will:
  • Define and communicate the product priorities and roadmap for personalisation capabilities serving cold-start, new, and anonymous travelers
  • Translate traveller and business needs into clear platform requirements, product narratives, success measures, and prioritised backlogs
  • Partner with engineering and data science on contextual personalisation, identity resolution, feature generation, model serving, and decisioning
  • Collaborate with product teams to make shared personalisation capabilities easy to adopt, test, understand, and measure
  • Lead discovery and experimentation, including hypothesis development, test design, rollout planning, and interpretation of results
  • Make thoughtful trade-offs across traveller value, business objectives, privacy, fairness, explainability, operational complexity, latency, and platform scalability
Minimum qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience shipping ML products or platform capabilities in a product management role
  • Strong product judgement and can frame ambiguous problems, identify high-value opportunities, and make pragmatic decisions
  • You are comfortable working with technical teams on application programming interfaces, data flows, event instrumentation, model inputs and outputs, experimentation systems, or other platform concepts
  • Experience defining measurable outcomes and using quantitative and qualitative evidence to guide product decisions
  • You are customer-centred and curious about how travelers discover, compare, and choose travel products
  • You communicate clearly and can influence partners across engineering, data science, design, analytics, and business teams
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with cold-start, new-user, anonymous-user, or session-based personalisation
  • You have built or scaled shared platforms used by multiple product teams
  • Familiarity with recommendation systems, ranking, contextual bandits, embeddings, feature stores, model serving, identity graphs, or real-time decisioning
  • You understand experimentation methodology, causal measurement, online metrics, and guardrail metrics
  • Experience with privacy, consent, data governance, or responsible artificial intelligence considerations in personalisation products
  • You have worked in travel, commerce, marketplaces, search, media, or another domain where relevance and intent are central to the customer experience
How success will be measured

In your first 12-18 months, success may include:

  • Establishing a clear, aligned roadmap for improving personalisation for cold-start, new, and anonymous travelers
  • Increasing the coverage and quality of relevant personalised experiences where historical traveler data is limited or unavailable
  • Improving traveler and business outcomes through robust experimentation and measurement
  • Strengthening adoption of shared personalisation capabilities by partner product teams
  • Improving visibility into platform performance, model quality, latency, data health, and key guardrails
  • Building trusted operating partnerships across product, engineering, data science, design, analytics, and business stakeholders
