Overview
The Product Manager for Data will drive the success of our product portfolio, leading the development of data-driven capabilities across our Fraud Detection and Prevention platform and solutions. This role will partner closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, analytics, marketing, customer support, operations, professional services and sales, to define and execute on a data product roadmap that supports our data strategy. Success in this role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, communication skills, strategic thinking and business acumen.
Responsibilities
- Product Strategy and Roadmap Development: Define and own the product vision, roadmap, and success metrics for data products that power fraud detection, prevention, investigation, and analytics.
- Gathering Requirements and Prioritizing: Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather and assess requirements, translating customer needs into actionable data initiatives. Prioritize feature development based on their potential impact and feasibility.
- Facilitate Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration among engineering, data science, analytics, marketing, customer support, professional services, operations, and sales teams to ensure coherence and effective execution of data product initiatives. Review technical accuracy of product collateral and support sales enablement efforts. Collaborate with finance and legal on new features that might impact pricing or contract language.
- Drive Product Development: Lead the prioritization of tasks and oversee the execution of product releases, ensuring punctual delivery, and maintaining high-quality standards. Work with the engineering team as part of the SCRUM team, attend SCRUM ceremonies, and create clear epics and user stories for the developers.
- Documentation and Communication: Collaborate with documentation teams to ensure accurate and user-friendly product documentation, including user guides and release notes. Communicate data product updates, changes, and progress to internal teams, stakeholders, and customers.
- Customer Engagement: Assist customer support in handling client escalations and collaborate with professional services to educate clients about new features and releases, nurturing strong customer relationships. Support sales and solutions consultants and enable them to deliver product roadmap.
Qualifications
- BE/BTech/MCA/Equivalent degree in business, engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field from an accredited university or college
- 4+ years of product management experience, with at least 3+ years focused on data products or platforms.
- Proven track record of building data products in fraud, risk, payments, trust & safety, or related domains.
- Background in fraud detection, payments risk, or security is highly desirable.
- Experience in real-time data products or high-scale decisioning platforms.
- Strong technical understanding of data infrastructure, including real-time data pipelines, ETL/ELT, event streaming, data modelling, and observability.
- Experience with designing analytics and reporting solutions using tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
- Previous experience supporting machine learning models with data infrastructure.
- Familiarity with experimentation frameworks and performance measurement in risk domains.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as PCI, GDPR, or other data governance standards
- Experience working with structured/unstructured data and tools like SQL, Kafka, Airflow, Snowflake, dbt, Looker, or similar
- Familiarity with fraud detection techniques such as behavioural analytics, anomaly detection, rules engines, or ML-based scoring.
- Exceptional communication skills, able to collaborate with engineering, data science, and business stakeholders alike.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with evolving fraud threats and priorities.
