Qualifications

Your Mission

Drive user growth, activation, and engagement across our consumer products.

Your responsibilities in this role
  • Own and drive the growth and activation strategy for NALA’s consumer-facing products
  • Design and execute product-led growth initiatives to improve onboarding, user education, and activation metrics
  • Collaborate across design, engineering, data, and marketing to run experiments that improve conversion and engagement
  • Establish and refine growth funnels and identify bottlenecks using product and behavioural analytics
  • Build and test new product experiences aimed at improving first-time user success and long-term retention
  • Speak with customers to uncover insights that drive activation, retention, and scalable growth opportunities.
  • Define and monitor KPIs related to user acquisition, activation, and product engagement
  • Partner with marketing and community teams to shape the go-to-market strategy for new features or markets
  • Influence product vision and roadmap based on user needs, market trends, and experimentation results
  • Meet regularly with company leadership to align growth priorities and ensure cross-functional momentum
Must-have requirements
  • Proven experience in product growth, activation, or lifecycle marketing at a Fintech, Payments, or B2C SaaS company
  • 5+ years of product management experience in high-growth environments, ideally with a focus on user acquisition or engagement
  • Strong analytical mindset; comfortable with SQL, A/B testing, funnel metrics, and making data-informed decisions
  • Hands-on experience working with growth loops, virality, or referrals
  • Track record of building seamless, scalable onboarding flows and improving product activation metrics
  • High empathy for users, especially in underserved or emerging markets
  • Familiarity with product discovery techniques and a strong user-centric design philosophy
  • Comfortable working with engineering and design to ship fast and iterate often
Nice to have requirements
  • Understanding of user behaviour across UK, African, and Asian financial ecosystems
  • Fluency in Swahili or French is a plus
  • Experience scaling consumer fintech products in emerging markets
Success in the role looks like
3-Month Metrics
  • Mapped the full user funnel from acquisition to activation, identifying key drop-off points and early signals of engagement
  • Launched at least one activation experiment (e.g. onboarding flow improvements, incentives, referrals and etc) and reported on impact
6-Month Metrics
  • A clear pipeline of growth ideas validated by data and/or user insights for the next 6 months
  • 3+ successful experiments shipped with clear learnings and 1–2 scaled or iterated on based on results

  • [30mins] Interview with the Talent Team
    • This is our initial touchpoint. We're keen to understand your motivations and experiences better. As a tip, reflecting on why you applied for this role and being familiar with your application responses will be beneficial.
  • [45 mins] Product Sense
    • You'll meet with one of our Product Managers to understand how you think about product
  • Our take home Task
    • We will send you a specific task to the product team you're interviewing for
  • [1 hour] Task Review Interview
    • You'll meet with one of our Product Managers and & Nico, CTO & Co-Founder. We will ask you to present your task back to the team. They will have some questions prepared and will deep dive into some areas of the task with you
  • [30 mins] Customer Empathy
    • You'll meet with Benji, CEO with a specific session focused on customers, as per one of our values #CustomersFirstAlways
  • References
    • We conduct reference checks as standard for all of our hires at NALA
  • Decision
    • We’ll aim to come back with a timely decision and feedback on your overall interview process.
