A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Product Manager to join our Technology Change Department at Pavers, based at Northminster Business Park, York. This role is offered as a full-time permanent opportunity in a growing business where you are encouraged to develop your skills in a supportive environment.

Working alongside another Product Manager, this role will be responsible for ensuring our internal technology and data offerings meet colleagues’ needs and continually improve operational efficiency and deliver value to the business. You will play a key role in shaping Pavers’ strategic and tactical system enhancements based on the insights and knowledge you obtain through collaborative relationships with your colleagues.

You will manage internal products to serve our product buying and merchandising, customer management, and financial management needs throughout their life cycle from inception, growth, maturity, and to retirement. The Product Manager role will be pivotal to capturing and understanding business needs, breaking them down into tasks that are prioritised in line with and to meet business expectations.

We are looking for someone who can adeptly navigate the dynamics of a diverse team and contribute meaningfully to our collaborative efforts. The ideal colleague will possess strong negotiation skills, allowing for clear decision-making processes and overall transparent communication.

We are looking for a self-starter who is capable of initiating and driving projects to completion with minimal oversight. You'll need a solid analytical background, enabling them to make data driven decisions and effectively prioritise the product backlog. Precision and resilience are also crucial, as the nature of the work will often require attention to detail and the ability to remain focused. Furthermore, you should exhibit strategic planning skills, ensuring not just the generation of ideas but their successful implementation. Finally, a results-driven approach, underscored by a commitment to delivering quality, will be vital in achieving our team's vision of achieving technical excellence.

  • Champions a digital first approach; inspires teams to think about internal and external customer’s digital experience throughout the process.
  • Acts as product owner/champion for multiple products.
  • Manages the full product life cycle to ensure that user needs are met and that financial and other targets are achieved.
  • Monitors results and feedback from users of technology and data products.
  • Engage with senior business stakeholders to understand business drivers and goals
  • Lead discovery processes to fully understand customer and business needs and opportunities.
  • Analyses market and/or user research, feedback, expert opinion and usage data to understand needs and opportunities.
  • Prioritises product requirements, develops product roadmaps, owns the product backlog and ensures it’s visible and understood.
  • Develop product propositions by working with teams to find options and converge on proposed solutions.
  • Guide difficult decision-making to agree scope for minimum launchable products without losing sight of overall business goals.
  • Support delivery teams with decisions that guide rapid execution and delivery progress.
  • Coordinates customer testing and product launches and supports communications and training.
  • Anticipates changes in customer/user needs and adapts products and creates product retirement and transitioning plans where appropriate.

Here’s what we are looking for to be our Product Manager:

  • 3+ years of experience in a product owner or similar role with a proven track record managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with partners at all levels to elicit their requirements, and to engage and inspire them in the product vision.
  • Experience of using agile methodologies such as Scrum, either in the capacity of a Product Owner, or in digital design or delivery environment.
  • Proficiency in Agile tools like Azure DevOps or Jira to effectively prioritise and manage a dynamic workload within a fast-paced environment.
  • A deep-seated desire to improve our customer and colleague’s experience.
  • Creative thinker with a vision and great attention to detail.
  • Strong product discovery skills to ensure we are solving the problems that will deliver the most value to our customers. (Desirable)
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent (Desirable)
