Founded during the pandemic,Lightning Reachis an award-winning tech for good startup that streamlines access to financial support, making a real difference amidst the cost of living crisis. Our one-stop portal enables people in financial need to find and apply for multiple sources of support quickly and easily online, in one place – while using innovative technology (e.g. open banking and ID verification) to streamline administration and outreach for organisations which can help.

We’re looking for someone who can own the product lifecycle, from big-picture strategy to day-to-day execution, all while staying laser-focused on users and impact.

Responsibilities
  • Product strategy & ownership:Support strategy and execution of the product vision by maintaining a well-refined roadmap aligned with business goals. Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate strategic direction into actionable development plans.

  • Customer & market focus:Partner with users, customers, and internal stakeholders to gather insights and validate solutions. Continuously refine the product to enhance user experience and deliver measurable impact.

  • Hands-on product development:Translate user needs, partner feedback, and market trends into clear product requirements. Prioritize and manage the product backlog to ensure high-quality, scalable outcomes are delivered efficiently. Work directly with the engineering team to deliver impactful, user-centric solutions.

  • Metrics & impact: Establish and track key product metrics to measure success and inform decisions. Drive innovation and ensure the product remains ahead of industry trends.

Role Requirements
  • Experience: Proven track record in product management, ideally in a startup or scale-up environment.

  • Strategic thinking: Commercially minded with the ability to align product goals with company objectives.

  • User-centric: Deep empathy for users and a passion for solving real-world problems through technology.

  • Top communicator: Exceptional ability to convey ideas, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and influence stakeholders.

  • Analytical:Comfortable using data and insights to make informed product decisions.

  • A doer:As the sole product person, you’re hands-on and ready to own the entire product lifecycle. You thrive on both strategy and execution, embracing day-to-day tasks to drive impactful outcomes in a dynamic startup setting.

Nice to have:

  • Sector experience:Previous experience on products for vulnerable users, or on software designed for charities, housing associations or councils.

  • Lived experience:Applicants with personal experience of financial hardship, or have received support from charitable organisations are strongly encouraged to apply
