Job summary

Metro Bank is seeking an experienced Product Manager to own a domain backlog and drive the delivery roadmap across Lending, Collections, Relationship Management and Stores. You will translate strategy into squad-level outcomes, prioritise work and ensure compliant, customer-focused solutions.

You will partner with Engineering, Risk and Compliance teams to balance regulatory requirements with speed to value, defining metrics and tracking adoption and performance.

Job description

What you will do:

Each Product Manager will be accountable for a specific domain, owning the delivery and optimisation of its associated product outcome to support Metro Bank's next phase of innovation and growth. These domains include and not limited to Lending, Collections, Relationship Management and Stores.

• Own the product backlog and delivery roadmap for your domain area
• Translate the product domain and platform strategy into clear squad-level outcomes, priorities, and acceptance criteria
• Prioritise work by balancing customer value, business impact, delivery feasibility, technical health, and regulatory requirements
• Act as the primary product manager for your squad, making timely trade-offs to maintain delivery momentum
• Partner closely with Engineering, Architecture, Operations, Risk, and Compliance to ensure solutions are viable, secure, and compliant
• Define and track success metrics such as customer outcomes, adoption, operational performance, and time-to-value
• Ensure alignment between squad delivery and wider domain, platform, and enterprise priorities
• Actively manage dependencies with other squads and escape risks or conflicts where required
• Use customer insights, data, and operational feedback to continuously refine product features and journeys

What you will need:

• Experience working as a Product Manager, Product Owner or similar role combined with a strong understanding of core banking products and customer journeys
• Demonstratable experience delivering products or features in a regulated and complex environment
• Strong facilitation skills for backlog refinement, planning, and stakeholder alignment sessions
• Familiarity with modern digital platforms, APIs, and system integration concepts
• Exposure of familiarity with agentic tooling would be desirable
• Awareness of regulatory, risk, and control considerations in financial services
• Understanding of agile delivery models and how product management operates within them
• Excellent communicator who clearly articulates priorities, trade-offs, and outcomes while effectively influencing and collaborating across product, technology, operations, and control functions
