Job summary

Secondmind is seeking a Product Manager to bridge engineering needs with our AI-driven engineering software. You will set the product strategy, build a clear backlog, and guide multiple teams to translate complex capabilities into practical tools for engineers designing and calibrating systems.

You will engage with customers to shape products, align the roadmap with business goals, and collaborate with Product and UX to ensure cohesive strategy across product lines in industries like automotive.

Qualifications

Proven experience as Product Manager/Product Owner in a technical or B2B software environment.
Strong customer focus — translating user needs into product requirements.
Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum) and tools (JIRA).
Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, sales & marketing.
Experience with market research and competitive analysis to inform strategy.
Willing to share ownership of a wider product portfolio with another Product Manager.

Responsibilities

About the role

As a Product Manager at Secondmind, you'll connect what engineers need with what our technology can do.

You'll work with our Product Management team to build Engineering AI software, powered by our advanced machine learning system, that make engineers' jobs easier. You'll set the product strategy and turn it into a clear backlog. You'll guide teams across the business, and translate complex technical capabilities into tools engineers can actually use to design and calibrate systems.

You'll talk to customers and use what you learn to shape our products, understanding what our customers need today and anticipating what the industry will need in the future. And you'll bring people together to solve problems - helping us line up our roadmap with our business goals, and build technology that makes a real difference in industries like automotive.

What will you be responsible for?

Product Strategy Development: Develop and continuously shape product strategy based on customer needs, market opportunities, and business goals
Product Strategy Communication: Champion a product-led culture, advocate for and share the product vision and strategy across the organization and with external stakeholders, building conviction and alignment around where the product is headed and why.
Product Requirements Discovery and Prioritization: Engage with stakeholders and closely collaborate with our UX team to discover and gather product requirements, make them clear to Secondmind technical teams, and define their priorities based on business need.
Roadmap Development and Product Backlog Ownership: Develop and maintain the product roadmap. Build, manage, prioritise and deliver the backlog items.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Engineering, AI Science,UX, Business Development, and Operations to ensure cohesive product development and delivery.
Peer Collaboration: Work alongside people in our Product team (Product Manager and UX team) to align priorities across product lines, share context and best practice, and maintain a cohesive, consistent overall product strategy.
Market Analysis: In collaboration with marketing, business development and external consultants; conduct market research to identify trends, user needs, and competitive landscape to inform product decisions.
Performance Metrics: Establish and track key product metrics to assess performance and drive continuous improvement, informing future enhancements.

What skills, experience, and qualifications do you need to succeed in this role?

Essential

Proven experience as a Product Manager/Product Owner, ideally in a technical or B2B software environment
Strong customer focus — skilled at gathering, prioritizing, and translating user needs into product requirements
Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and tools (e.g. JIRA), managing product roadmaps and backlogs
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to align cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, and marketing
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, comfortable making decisions with incomplete or ambiguous information
Experience conducting market research and competitive analysis to inform product strategy
Comfortable sharing ownership of a wider product portfolio with another Product Manager, keeping priorities and roadmaps aligned across product lines
