As Everest expands its footprint across both Lloyd's and Company market platforms, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our product governance strategy. Sitting within the CUO's office in the 1st line Technical Underwriting & DA Oversight team, you'll be the driving force behind ensuring our products meet regulatory standards and deliver genuine value to our customers. You'll collaborate closely with underwriters and key stakeholders across Risk and Compliance, bringing your expertise in FCA PROD, Lloyd's, and EIOPA requirements to life. With the autonomy to build and own a suite of reporting metrics for senior leadership, your impact will be visible and valued.

Job Purpose

  • In this role, you'll ensure that underwriters across both Everest Managing Agency Limited (EMAL) and Everest Insurance (Ireland), DAC (EIID) are fully aligned with the Product Governance Framework.
  • You'll bring a strong working knowledge of FCA, Central Bank of Ireland regulations, and UK Consumer Duty requirements to the table. You'll conduct annual and periodic reviews of new and existing products and services, making sure they remain suitable and compliant with both internal standards and regulatory expectations. You'll also maintain and manage the Product Register.
  • You'll oversee the approval process for new products and material changes, ensuring underwriters have completed the necessary assessments and that these are properly presented to the Product Oversight Group (POG).
  • Your responsibilities will include reviewing and maintaining Target Market Assessments and Fair Value Assessments, and challenging the data provided by our DA Operations MI team to ensure third-party distribution partners are reporting accurately, especially in relation to product performance and vulnerable customers.
  • You'll also take ownership of Product Governance reporting for Conduct MI and the Product Universe across EMAL and EIID, and oversee due diligence across the value chain in partnership with the DA Due Diligence team.
  • Staying ahead of regulatory changes will be key, you'll regularly scan the horizon for updates that impact underwriting, whether through Delegated Authority or Open Market placements.
  • You'll help prepare committee packs (including for POG) and represent underwriting product governance matters with confidence and insight.
  • You'll also deputise for the Head of Product Governance & Technical DA Oversight when needed.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work closely with the Head of Product Governance & Technical DA Oversight to ensure all products across both platforms meet regulatory requirements in all operating territories.
  • Maintain the Product Register, keeping it current and ensuring material changes are tracked and reported.
  • Partner with underwriters as Product Owners, helping them monitor their products and navigate the approval process for changes.
  • Conduct regular horizon scanning of regulatory developments, especially those from Lloyd's, the FCA, and the CBI, and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Oversee and challenge the DA Operations MI team, ensuring the Product Universe is accurate and supports conduct MI.
  • Prepare papers and presentations for committees such as the Product Oversight Group, Contract Oversight Group, and Underwriting Committee.
  • Carry out any other tasks as agreed with the Head of Product Governance & Technical DA Oversight.
  • Ensure all activities align with Everest's policies and procedures.

Professional Experience:

  • You'll have Product Governance experience within a Lloyd's Managing Agent, Insurance Company, Broker, or Coverholder/MGA.
  • You're confident reviewing and applying regulatory advice to 1st line teams.
  • You understand FCA PROD rules, Lloyd's, and EIOPA requirements.
  • You're comfortable creating and owning reporting metrics for senior management.
  • Experience in a similar role would be a strong advantage.

Skills, Abilities & Competencies:

  • You communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally.
  • You're proactive, solution-oriented, and able to prioritise effectively.
  • You're tech-savvy, with solid experience using platforms like Workflows and the MS Office suite, especially Excel.
