Job description

We are looking for a talented Product Engineering Specialist to join our team specialising in Engineering in Darlington, United Kingdom.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Act as a central point of coordination across engineering, customer teams, suppliers and manufacturing to ensure alignment and smooth delivery.
  • Influence product decisions by gathering input from stakeholders and translating it into clear recommendations.
  • Drive progress on projects by applying sound engineering judgement to day-to-day technical decisions.
  • Improve product reliability by identifying risks and mitigating potential failure modes early.
  • Support design decisions through analysis, simulation and interpretation of technical data.
  • Lead smaller projects or take ownership of components or systems with increasing accountability.
  • Strengthen engineering processes by applying and improving tools such as problem‑solving methods and design reviews.
  • Support and guide colleagues by sharing knowledge and contributing to the development of less experienced engineers.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • Experience working on technical products at the component or subsystem level within an engineering environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage complexity and analyse data effectively.
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to organise work, manage priorities and deliver results in a fast‑paced setting.
Education / Experience
  • Degree in Engineering or a relevant STEM subject.
  • Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
  • Ongoing professional development or working towards a recognised engineering status is advantageous.
  • Strong expertise in CAD modelling, mechanical design, and analysis, with the ability to apply standards and best practices.
