BENCH DOGS JOB OPENING : Product Engineer - Retail Fixture Manufacturing

Bench Dogs is looking to add a Product Engineer to our team!

Bench Dogs is a small manufacturing company located in Denver, PA that specializes in retail displays, store fixtures, and commercial case goods. We have under 100 employees and are unique in that we are a custom, full-service design, engineering, and manufacturing company that sees products from the time they're simply an idea to when they're fully built and installed onsite.

Our Product Engineer position is part of our engineering team and plays a key role in the development of products and successful execution of jobs. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, project management, and sales, helping to ensure products meet quality standards, customer specifications, and production timelines. Below is a general list of responsibilities for the role :

  • Develop and create all components for a given project in SolidWorks 3D software
  • Learn and become proficient in cabinetry specific engineering software
  • Build estimates for new projects using established estimating tools
  • Seek out new sources, materials, and vendors on new projects
  • Create manufacturing and shop drawings from SolidWorks 3D models
  • Create machining, manufacturing, and shop drawings from Cabinet Vision Software
  • Work with the Production Department to ensure updates / Engineering Change Orders to engineering drawings, BOMs, and routers are performed
  • Assist in the assembly and review of quality of prototypes and first articles
  • Perform quality control checking of parts against engineering drawings
  • Assist in the development of new projects and display programs
  • Assist Project Managers with quantity take-offs for change management on awarded projects
  • Assist Project Managers with building and maintaining Operations Estimation Tool(s)

Our Product Engineer role is a full-time position with a general schedule of Monday to Friday, 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm. The role will be required to work fully onsite for an onboarding period at our facility in Denver, PA. After this, partial remote work will be considered, but the role does require regular time onsite to successfully operate with the team. Compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 per year to $70,000 per year.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • 2+ years of SolidWorks CAD experience
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Cabinet Vision Software experience
  • Ability to navigate and read blueprints, floorplans, and architectural documents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with customers, management, and contributors
  • Ability to self-prioritize and work with minimal direction at times
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Willingness to learn and utilize new software
  • Positive, high energy, "can do" attitude
