The Company and Role.

This is a fantastic junior / graduate food opportunity working for a large multi-site progressive food business that produces a delicious range of own label and branded food products. Working within a large R&D team, the successful candidate will need to be a real “foodie” with a passion for creative, innovative, and consumer trend-based product development. This opportunity provides a great environment to hone your skills and practical knowledge to translate big ideas into flavorful products as the business expands its product portfolio.

People Profile.

  • Experience working within a creative development environment
  • Knowledge/experience of food manufacturing processes
  • Degree in Food Science/Technology or related field, or HNC Food Science/Technology, BTEC Food Science, or culinary/chef-based qualifications will also be considered
  • A passionate “foodie” with flair for innovative, trend-based product development
  • Ambitious self-starter capable of managing projects independently
  • Ability to work well within a broader R&D team
  • Solution-oriented mindset

Key Accountabilities.

  • Deliver the R&D programme for NPD/EPD/ESG in the related product area
  • Lead scale-up development via pilot plant and factory trials
  • Work independently to develop new ideas and shape projects
  • Monitor current trends in cuisines, ingredients, and consumer preferences
  • Understand ingredient functionality and collaborate with suppliers to develop new opportunities
  • Manage document control and processes related to projects
  • Collaborate with packaging, sensory, and marketing teams to set benchmarks and conduct product assessments
