Job Overview

At Britvic, we are seeking a dynamic and passionate Product Development Technologist to join our GB IDD Product Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for the flawless delivery of new and exciting liquids for our GB products portfolio, from concept creation to implementation at our factories. You will lead the liquid development workstream, ensuring robust technical expertise is applied to gain a competitive advantage and deliver liquid solutions right the first time.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead the liquid development of new soft drinks products from concept to commercialization, including lab work, trials, and productions.
• Lead small-scale initiatives such as process improvements, flavor extensions, and ideation sessions.
• Support production sites by providing manufacturability guidance and contributing to continuous improvement projects.
• Act as a subject matter expert, contributing to building relationships with key suppliers and advancing our knowledge and capabilities.
• Build effective collaborative partnerships with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Suppliers, providing direction to cross-functional teams.
• Lead liquid scale-up and implementation of new formulas in our internal and contract manufacturing facilities.
• Ensure all project work complies with Britvic's technical processes and legal requirements related to soft drinks.
• Create accurate and high-quality documentation, including product briefs, timelines, liquid workbooks, test plans, reports, specifications, and IP protection.
• Understand and actively manage the risk profile of the liquid solution and associated risks and mitigation actions.

Experience and Key Attributes

• Skills in product formulation are essential.
• Skills and interest in process scale-up from laboratory to factory are essential.
• Understanding of pilot plant operations and how to trial products using one is desired.
• Skills in factory commissioning and validation with a focus on quality are desired.
• Specific knowledge of beverage formulation, ingredients, and processing is desired.
• Effective leadership skills are essential.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills, including relationship building, facilitation, and written/verbal communication skills.

Education/Qualifications

Honors or Degree equivalent in a relevant science discipline (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry). Relevant formulation/quality qualifications and project management qualifications are desirable.
