Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Marsh Portfolio Solutions team. This role can be based out of our London, Manchester or Norwich office. This is a hybrid role that requires working at least 3 days a week in the office.

The role: Product Development & Policy Wordings Specialist

Are you a Policy Wordings Specialist or an experienced Insurance Advisor, Underwriter or Claims Handler with broad technical knowledge of the major lines of business? Do you have experience interpreting and/or negotiating terms and policy wordings?

If so, we are seeking someone who can combine these technical skills to help the Marsh Portfolio Solution team create and maintain enhanced solutions for clients.

The successful candidate will work within a highly skilled team to develop products with insurers, negotiate and advise on carrier and broker wordings, provide technical input into tender processes, support Marsh colleagues on cover issues, and assist in providing training internally and externally.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Understand insurer’s wordings within expertise areas and communicate summaries to the business.
  2. Collaborate with Product Managers to negotiate improvements to policy wordings with insurers.
  3. Keep wording comparisons and reviews of new insurer wordings up to date.
  4. Maintain key benefits and high-level comparison documents.
  5. Research and communicate on technical insurance issues and developments.
  6. Contribute to technical newsletters and publications, supporting team members.
  7. Provide ad hoc advice on client and cover issues.
  8. Escalate issues to Product Managers for insurer discussions.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with key insurers and understand their offerings.
Minimum requirements:
  1. Proven experience in the insurance industry, with knowledge of Property, Casualty, Motor, and PA/Travel policies.
  2. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Claims, underwriting, loss adjusting, or technical background preferred.
  4. Experience providing technical policy wording support is beneficial.
  5. Strong communication and analytical skills.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
Preferred attributes:
  1. Knowledge of Property, Casualty, Motor.
  2. Ability to work calmly under pressure and flexibly when needed.
  3. Cert CII qualification, with progress towards ACII, is desirable.
