Here at Travis Perkins, we’re urgently recruiting for a Product Development Manager to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract providing maternity cover.

As our Product Development Manager, you’ll have the power to lead and own the product development lifecycle for a specific group of Benchmarx categories, driving portfolio profitability and SKU efficiency for a market-leading product offer. Your focus will be on detailed SKU level data analysis, consumer & trade market data insights, product design, innovation & development, and value engineering programmes to future-proof the Benchmarx kitchen assortment.

You’ll also be responsible for delivering detailed SKU level data analysis, consumer & trade market data insights, product design, innovation & development, and value engineering programmes to enhance the Benchmarx kitchen assortment.

Driving licence & access to a car is preferred as you will be required to visit suppliers and branches.

What you’ll do:

  • Identify and develop market-leading, customer-led design initiatives that will drive profitable growth in Kitchen Categories.
  • Define product range & manage portfolio, creating usable data for range mapping.
  • Review range profitability and collaborate with the Head of Product to decide on development, retention, reduction, or elimination.
  • Lead and coordinate decision-making processes, ensuring business cases demonstrate profitability and SKU efficiency, and understand full costs to serve.
  • Build effective relationships within the team, especially with Marketing & the Product Development Panel.
  • Maintain relationships with strategic suppliers to stay updated on future trends and opportunities.
  • Support Marketing with CGI/photography, catalogue content, in-store graphics/POS, layouts, bay designs, and display solutions.
  • Assist the Head of Product in delivering the full Go-To-Market strategy, managing NPD, and handling obsolete stock, ensuring all product data and system compliance are maintained.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Experience in a Product Development role or relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in Category Management & Product Development/Design within a retail/trade environment.
  • A technical awareness of Kitchens, with the ability to interpret fashion and design trends.
  • Strong analytical skills to manipulate data and identify opportunities.
