Job description

You will be focused on supporting and growing the Passive Fire Protection business globally. It has responsibility for global product development, testing/certification and support the commercialization of the products. This position requires close collaboration with various functions, including other S&T innovation teams, marketing, and commercial teams based worldwide. You will report to the EMEA Regional Technical Director.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory-based research and development of premium PFP coatings, including cellulosic and hydrocarbon PFP.
• Deliver the assigned R&D deliverables for global and complex Product Development projects, including agile project set up for new growth areas for PPG.
• Communicate with third-party testing/certification body regarding test matrices and test methodology for PFP projects.
• Collaborate with the Global specification, testing and certification team to transfer test results to S&T and market teams.
• Operate as part of a wider versatile R&D team and cross-functional network of PPG Innovation Centers, collaborating with Product Management, Manufacturing, Product Stewardship, Operations and Procurement.
• Drive innovation in the area of PFP.
• Be responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, leveraging best in class practices throughout all R&D activities and driving speed to market. This includes establishing and maintaining strong cross-functional partnerships.
• Ensure milestones and key deliverables are met to drive project execution.
• Ensure Intellectual Property progression is met from ideation through application to ensure PPG's competitive advantage.
• Promote and foster a broad safety culture within global laboratories.
• Travel as required, including international travel.
