Job Overview

As a Product Development Laboratory Technician at Carlsberg Britvic, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's innovation and product development efforts. You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing samples, maintaining laboratory equipment and consumables, and ensuring adherence to the highest standards of hygiene, food safety, and quality management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze samples for new products, validations, and trials.
  • Maintain stock of laboratory consumables and raw material libraries.
  • Book samples with micro and analytical teams for analysis.
  • Maintain laboratory, storerooms, and equipment to appropriate hygiene and housekeeping standards.
  • Operate complex and sensitive test and analytical instrumentation.
  • Build relationships with equipment suppliers to ensure functionality and maintenance.
  • Carry out user training, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and recommendations on laboratory process capabilities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with analytical, micro, and sensory labs.
  • Support other technical teams with analytical methods, training, calibration, and validation.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required

  • Degree or A-levels in science, microbiology, or food science-related subject.
  • Food processing experience (desired).
  • Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
