At Disney, we believe great stories begin with great design. We’re looking for a creative and detail-oriented Product Design & Development Assistant to join our EMEA team, focusing on the Stationery and Greeting Cards categories. If you’re passionate about product design, thrive in a collaborative environment, and want to help bring Disney magic to life through everyday moments, this could be your dream role.

This role is based four days a week in our Hammersmith office, with a Monday or a Friday working from home.

Your Role in the Story
As a Product Design & Development Assistant, you’ll support the creation of trend-right, brand-enhancing products for our licensees and Direct to Retail (DTR) partners. You’ll play a key role in the product lifecycle—from concept to approval—ensuring every item reflects Disney’s high standards for creativity, quality, and compliance.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the product approval process from concept to production using Disney’s Online Product Approval (OPA) system

  • Provide creative direction and feedback on 2D and 3D product submissions

  • Train and support licensees on Disney’s brand, properties, creative assets, and systems

  • Ensure licensees have access to the right creative tools and materials

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Create product pitches, design visuals, and mock-ups under the guidance of senior team members

  • Stay up to date on Disney’s characters, films, and creative assets to inspire product development

  • Support regional and global design projects as needed

  • Ensure all products comply with corporate policies and relevant legislation

  • Monitor design trends, pop culture, and the competitive landscape

  • Attend inspiration trips to explore new ideas and drive innovation

What You Bring

  • A degree in product design or equivalent experience in a lifestyle product company

  • Proven experience in product development or design, ideally within a licensee, retail head office, or supplier

  • Licensing experience is highly desirable

  • Graphic design skills are essential

  • Strong conceptual and design skills, with the ability to create prototypes or models

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Mac OSX, and MS Office

  • Understanding of fabrics, colour, and product design

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness of EMEA markets

  • Ability to manage deadlines, budgets, and multiple stakeholders

  • A collaborative spirit and a passion for storytelling through design
