ARAG UK are recruiting for a Product Development Advisor to join our high-performing and friendly BTE, Product and Portfolio Underwriting department.
The successful candidate will hold responsibility for the execution, development and roadmap of one or more insurance products, ensuring they meet customer needs, achieve business objectives, and remain competitive within the UK market. This is a great opportunity to act as the voice of the customer, translating their needs into actionable requirements and prioritising them to maximize value delivery. Within this role you will look to develop a comprehensive understanding of the products and the UK insurance and regulatory landscape, as you will be a key driver in shaping the future of the product(s) and contributing to the organisation's growth and success.
In addition, you will work with a wide range of stakeholders across the business in order to effectively review products. Deeply understanding customer needs is key, and you will assess pain points and motivations by utilising market research, user feedback, and data analysis.
In addition, key responsibilities will include:
- Prioritising the product backlog based on business value, customer impact, and technical feasibility.
- Co-ordinating and producing product reviews on an annual cycle.
- Managing the product throughout its lifecycle, from development to launch, and through BAU, whilst working closely with development teams to ensure requirements are understood and implemented effectively in the wider business.
- Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and identify areas for improvement, and supporting the Product Underwriting Managers and other key stakeholders in the analysis of product performance data, and making data-driven recommendations for optimisation of the product.
- Maintain a well-documented and prioritised product action log, ensuring it is transparent, visible, and reflects the current state of the product roadmap and annually addresses any identified changes in product reviews.
- Effectively communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap to all stakeholders. Facilitate meetings, workshops, and other communication channels to ensure alignment, collaboration and completion of actions.
- Ensure all product features and functionalities comply with relevant UK insurance regulations and industry best practices (e.g., FCA regulations).
We are keen to hear from candidates with experience as a Product Advisor, or similar experience in a related role within the UK insurance industry or Financial Services Industry. You will have a strong awareness of consumer duty, and an understanding of the UK insurance market, including products, regulations, and distribution channels.It is essential that you have excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with comfortability presenting to large groups and deliver product roadmaps.In addition, the ideal candidate will demonstrate:Ability to translate customer needs into actionable requirements.Experience of coordinating multiple parties in completion of tasksUnderstanding of how to translate data into actionable activityAbility to prioritise effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Familiarity with SharePoint and Power BI (desirable)Only a stone's throw from Bristol Temple Meads station, we have newly refurbished and modern city centre offices.
